Winterize Your Business?

Winter is Coming: thanks to my hunky hubby Drew, aka our resident Book Coach, Doctor of Social Psychology and Chief Wood Stacker, we will be prepared. And thanks to my plan outlined below, my business and my mindset will be ready too. Check it out and borrow my idea!

Hi Friend,

We in the North Country of the United States prepare for winter. (Cue the Game of Thrones soundtrack.)

Snow tire appointments are scheduled for October...

Easy, slip-on Bog boots ready for the kids...

Ski passes bought months ago...

Thermals on order...

And the wood stacking begins!

Sure, we could outsource some of this, but my husband and I find outdoor work and play balances the computer work that we do in our respective coaching businesses.

And by outdoor work, I mean Drew does it all. I just goof off in my herb garden.

There's nothing like the heat of a wood stove to add an instant cozy vibe while you work from home.

(You may not know that Drew and I have been working from home for 20+ years as professional coaches.)

While all of this is great, last winter was TOUGH.

We were homeschooling, our homeschool pod would go weeks without meeting up, and we were definitely in the dumps.

But with great challenges comes great motivation!

That's why I'm priming myself NOW to make sure I do not have another winter like that again.

No. Freakin. Way.

I'm exercising more and signed up for fitness coaching to help myself feel sharp and energized through the winter.

And in my business, I'm ready to invest energy into getting something new done, now that my kids are in a happier routine and back in school.

I've been thinking about how I will enter the final 90 days of 2021. (Oh hello! That starts next week!)

For me, the holiday season is a barometer of how I'm doing. Can you relate?

I can reflect on past Christmases and see that some years I did better than others.

This brings me to you and your company of one.

Here's one way to end the year strongly and prepare yourself for a bright new year as a coach, practitioner or consultant.

The way I bypass the winter blues is by creating a special project for my business that I will feel PROUD to complete by December.

I imagine myself on Christmas Eve, celebrating what I set out to do, and feeling accomplished and proud of myself, instead of diving into the holiday cookies as a way to mask my disappointment.

Been there, done that.

You need something much more compelling to focus on than wine, cookies and overindulging during the winter holidays.

I'd like to invite you to set your sights on completing something by the end of the year that will make you feel PROUD.

Here are some ideas...

... Book 6 signature talks for your business (they don't have to happen by December 31st)

... Refresh your website, message and service offering so you're ready to go come January (not digging yourself out from a season of checking out). This is my jam.

... Write your book (see my husband for this)

... Address a toleration you are quietly suffering about in your business and solve it

... Attract 10 new paying clients by the end of December

As long as you feel proud of the endeavor, then you win.

Time to winterize your business.

1. Decide what you would like to transform in your business.

2. Select a doable chunk of this transformation that you can do in 90 days and turn it into a project.

3. Start your project in October.

Give yourself no more than 90 days to get it done.

If you'd like a marketing and mindset coach who will fiercely stand behind your business goals like Jon Snow, and brings the Ted Lasso vibes too, then I may be your gal. Reach out here. Two spots open for October.

Let's end the year feeling awake, alert and proud of our work,
